I’m 40 years old and have spent 20 years looking after my children who have now grown up. I’m now looking for part time work during the day but have no work experience. I don’t have great IT skills and all the jobs I have looked at require some sort of experience in the office with computers.
In care there are many part time roles which might suit you and use your skills gained from bringing up a family. Many care employers are more interested in the sort of person you are rather than the qualifications or experience you have. You can do the training you need whilst working. To work as a care worker most of your work is about directly supporting someone and so the IT you’ll need can be learned and isn’t the main part of the role.
