Careers Ambassadors work in a range of health and care roles in East London.  They are enthusiastic about the exciting and rewarding jobs and careers available and can talk about their work, why they got into it and what they love about their job.  We know that people are more interested in a career in care or health having heard from an ambassador.  Ambassadors are here to promote the sector to young people and job seekers in our area.  As well as talking about their role they will encourage people to consider the range of local roles and opportunities across the health and care sector.

For the next few months ambassador activities will continue to be virtual with ambassadors able to deliver online live webinars and workshops as well as creating case studies, projects and other career activities.  Once it is safe to do so, ambassadors can resume activities such as visiting schools, colleges and jobcentres, attending special events, hosting activities, and continuing to promote the sector in other ways.

Where possible ambassadors working in health roles and in care roles will attend events together so people understand the whole range of roles available and can see which may suit them best.

Guidance for requesting an ambassador

If you would like to request an ambassador, please complete:

Request a Careers Ambassador Form

Please note it takes time to find and prepare ambassadors, so please submit your request as early as possible.  It may not be possible to respond to requests for dates shorter than 8-12 weeks away.

Think about how the ambassador can have the biggest impact.  We find ambassadors attending sessions, doing presentations or workshops is far more valuable than just having someone at a stand.  We don’t have enough ambassadors to meet all requests and so opportunities to talk to young people in more detail will be prioritised over general careers events or stands.  Materials can be provided for that kind of event.

Prior to the event we will confirm details of who will be attending and arrangements.

We want to ensure that ambassador activities have an impact and so we will ask those requesting ambassadors to complete a feedback form.

If you have any questions about ambassadors please contact  elhealthandcarecareers@carecity.org
