So, how do you know if a career in Health is right for you?
The Health Hub aims to help with that. We know that looking for a job can be hard. Sometimes just knowing what you want to do isn’t easy. We also know that understanding what local jobs are available and what skills are needed to be successful at them can also be confusing.
With over 350 different NHS careers and a number of different routes into these roles, there will be the right job for you. Jobs range from clinical roles e.g., doctor, midwife, pharmacist, 111 call handler to non clinical roles such as health care support worker, occupational therapy assistant as well as support roles like porter, IT, finance and marketing.
People join health and care roles from a wide variety of backgrounds, knowledge and experience and at different stages in their career. What is important is that you are willing to learn, bring the right attitude and you can identify with the values of the organisation you wish to work for. Skills and knowledge can be learnt on the job or with further training, again, this is where the Health Hub can help.

Across North-East London, we have 5 NHS Trusts employing about 35,000 people in a range of hospital and community-based roles, with approximately 4500 vacant posts. We also have 286 GP practices employing around 3,800 staff in a range of roles as well as 379 community pharmacies. Some vacant roles are made available for people coming through the Health Hub.
